Neuroscience-informed Product Research

More than traditional UX

As a trained UX researcher, I can run all your traditional usability tests, but with a scientific twist. UX is great at giving you "what" users do. My cognitive background helps you understand "why" from an evolutionary and behavioral perspective, so you can make your next design with more actionable information!

In addition to UX methods like moderated interviews, journey-mapping, heuristic evaluations, etc., I can design studies exactly for your needs using methods from cognitive science. My creative study designs can help you understand the users' internal processes like attention and decision-making.

For every stage of the design process

Even in a design brainstorm before your product exists, I can help make your ideas more effective by bringing science to the table. For example, if you want to direct a user's gaze, why not start by learning about attention-driving reflexes?

Save time and resources: By starting the design process with more information, you can cut down on "in the dark" iterations and get to an end product more quickly.

Below conscious awareness

Behavioral tests and measures can human tendencies that users may not be aware of in themselves. By designing controlled experiments, I can use proxy measures like reaction time and key strokes to understand internal processes like biases and subconscious associations.

This is especially useful compared to traditional user testing in cases where a) you do not want to interrupt the user during the test, b) you would otherwise depend on a user's memory of their impressions which could be clouded, or c) you want to avoid self-report bias from participants.

Coming soon!

I'm working on acquiring an EEG system and eye-tracker to record brain activity and gaze-patterns while users interact with your products! This will give metrics like stress, engagement, and cognitive load.
