To do it, I have to be cognitively flexible. I'm often designing studies to try and answer never-before-asked questions about products that may not even exist yet! I thrive in that ambiguity because new questions = endless discoveries!
I've been conducting research with human participants since 2014 and leading studies for 8+ years. My early research was in cognitive and behavioral laboratories, I made the transition to industry work as a UX research consultant in 2019. Most recently, I designed and conducted original product research as a Senior Human Factors Engineer/Applied Neuroscientist at Microsoft.

In product research, that means listening to users without assuming their needs. It is also creating a space for people with disabilities as well as minorities to ensure inclusive design.
Beyond research, it means learning from and empowering others. As a mixed-race woman in science, I strive to be a force multiplier. I help others rise in their careers that through mentoring and speaking engagements.
